Open Houses - Proposed Coastal Development Permit Area

The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) is working to improve the steps for approving new coastal development. The proposed development permit area (DPA) outlines requirements to reduce the impact of coastal flooding as early as possible. The RDN Board gave two readings to official community plan amendment bylaws for Areas A, E, G and H and Zoning Bylaw No. 500 in 2023, and is seeking public input at a series of Open Houses.
