Notice of First Reading - Zoning Amendment Bylaw 2500.03, 2025

The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) advises that a Public Hearing will not be held for proposed "Regional District of Nanaimo Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 2500.03, 2025" (Bylaw 2500.03). A Public Hearing is not being held as the Local Government Act does not permit a Public Hearing to be held for the purpose of complying with Section 481.3 Small Scale Multi Family Housing. The purpose of the bylaw is to adopt a new zone to implement the requirements of Bill 44 Small Scale Multi-Unit Housing (SSH1) to permit four dwelling units consisting of two principal dwellings and two secondary suites in areas services by RDN community water and sewer.

The RDN intends to consider first reading of Bylaw 2500.03 at its next Board meeting to be held Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 1 p.m.
